Resumo
This article reflects on Rubem Fonseca’s novel O caso Morel (1973), starting
from presuppositions relating to the metafictional narratives. To do so, the
novel’s experimentation procedures produced after the 1960s, expounded by
Monegal (1979), will be commented on. The considerations of metafictional
narratives by Hutcheon (1984) will be used as a basis for reflection. Moreover,
Dällenbach (1973) will be remembered to think about the diegetic presence
of the writer and the reader in Fonseca’s novel. This presence is an important
aspect that sets the metafictional narratives.
