Resumo
The present work is to study the Official Gazette of the State of Goiás and the challenge of the librarian in the conservation of this source of information on professional collections, through a case study of the professional practice of librarianship Denize Carmen de Morais in the Attorney General of the State of Goiás in Goiânia. To this end, we prepared a literature review focused on the thematic information sources, sources of periodic reporting, publication and preservation of documentary and library collections. This research is classified as applied qualitative based on objectives is exploratory and descriptive through the phenomenological method. It was noted in an interview that the course of librarianship has no discipline specifically dedicated to preserving, but which can be studied in a postgraduate or specialization and knowledge in conservation of documentary and library collections of fundamental importance for the preservation of the acquis and to guarantee their safety in the use of these user informational media that make the memory register. Among the universe of information, official governmental publications or gray literature are considered to be due to poor dissemination of information from these sources to the readers and have a professional responsibility to treat this information from the receipt, technical library economics cataloging and classification, providing this information and technical procedures for maintaining these documents is critical, this and many other matters constitute challenges in the professional librarian in the XXI century
