Resumo

The waste generation is inevitable in any process of consumer goods production. The construction industry generates large quantities of solid waste, called for this sector of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW). The emergence of specific legislation on the generation of CDW, along with the prohibition of referring waste to landfills, contributing to the recovery of waste, adding greater economic value to the waste material. Appropriate decisions must be made about how the construction waste will be managed in and outside the construction site, they should be used, recycled or deposited, making essential the creation of concrete data on the amount, type, time and place of his generation. In this context, this research seeks to develop and implement a plan for the solid construction and demolition waste management, based on two tools International Waste & Resources Action Programme - WRAP and SMARTWASTE, both aimed at the prediction, control and quantification of waste generated in the works. The research was structured development by conducting two case studies - a work multi floor residential character in the municipality of Goiânia and a horizontal piece of social housing in the city of Trindade. Among the preliminary results for the horizontal piece that has no waste management policies, there was interference in the organization of the construction site by the research, and the application of management methodology, there were improvements for cleanliness, organization, however experience difficulties in the implementation of other actions in its management. The second case, whose company possessing certification of its integrated management systems, already have internal policies related to RCD implemented , the methodology was applied to plan actions forecast to reduce, control and quantification of wastes, achieving better results. Through data analysis, the values obtained for the global waste indicators in the two cases, 21.79 and 30.86 kg/m2, approached with the indices presented in other national studies. But the lack of simple information such as the typology of works and construction systems of national and international literature prevented the creation of indicators by class of waste. This demonstrates the importance of the topic and the need for future similar studies. With the proposed method, it was possible to demonstrate the most significant items in the waste generation in all stages related to work and assist managers in creating actions that reduce the main sources of wastes, having not only financial benefits, but also preservation of the environment, better picture quality and against competitors in the work.
