Resumo

This work is the result of enhanced critical and reflective amid concerns that are represented by the question: How do documentaries have a role to motivate and challenge students in a course on Ethnomathematics in the initial training of teachers of mathematics? Thus, the research aimed to observe, describe, and understand the functional aspects of the use of documentaries for a course on Ethnomathematics for initial training of teachers of mathematics. In this sense, we present a deepening of the annoying and anxieties that were delineated during the flow experiences of the researchers. For that aimed to focus on the dimensions of the Program Ethnomathematics, and exhibit and documentary production in the initial training of teachers of mathematics, explaining contributions to pedagogical practice of future teachers. In this context, adotouse a qualitative approach in research on aspects of the case study for a critical-reflective analysis along with the undergraduates of mathematics courses at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, Federal University of Goias this perspective that led us to see, in this process view and production of documentaries, three functional categories: dialogue, new look to reality, especially context-addressed and discussed, and the values that this experience had gained.
