Resumo

This proposal aims to reflect on the movement, distance and approximation of the existing boundaries between fiction and history, in the mozambican novel O olho de Hertzog, by João Paulo Borges Coelho; as well as, about the representation of the characters, real and fictional, which merge into a post-war narrative. It will also seek to understand both the interrelationship between this binomial, as well as the story narrated in the pages of a romanesque work. The objective is to analyze how narrative weaving contributes to the configuration of a historical novel. In time, it should also be said that this dissertation is anchored in the theoretical construct of Lukács (2011), mainly from the work The Historical Romance, seen from the perspective of Marxist dialectical criticism. Thus, it was found that, although the historical novel arose in Europe, and the work of Lukács dedicating himself to the clipping of the 1930s, it is perceived that this still develops as a literary form, in the 21st century. Despite the fact that contemporary historical romance takes on certain style inserts, and set itself a little different from its classical form, many of the characteristics already identified by Lukács remain and reverberate today, even in the novel O olho de Herzog, configuring the permanence of this literary form in the present day; and, in particular, on African territory.
