Resumo
This research has as its study object the contribution for reading of chronicles to the critical
literary readers formation. From the corpus of analysis with 5 chronicles by Carlos Drummond
de Andrade, the investigation aimed to verify how the reading mediation by this textual genre
occurs in the 9th Year of Elementary School and in Youth and Adult Education and in what
way it is able to contribute for the literary reader formation. The research was based on the
theoretical reflections of Candido (1992); Zilberman (1984); Iser (1996); Andruetto (2017);
Eco (2011); Todorov (2009) among others. The methodological procedure of investigation was
an action research with a qualitative approach. The participant observation in the application of
the mediated readings of the chronicles made it possible to verify how the students dealt with
the proposal of the aesthetic experience and the construction of meanings involving verbal
interaction. It can be affirmed, from the results obtained with the research, the importance of
literary reading practice for the full formation of an autonomous, critical, reflective and above
all, humanized being. Thus, the obtained results were significant in the main objective within
the process of literary reading and meaning construction , with, at the end, as a register, written
productions of chronicles by the participating students in this study. The action-research,
together with the realization of a didactic sequence with mediated reading of chronicles resulted
in an educational product where an e-book entitled “From chronicle to chronicle a reader form
does? Reading of Carlos Drummond de Andrade in Basic Education” with a reasoned report
based on scholars and theorists who deal mainly with teaching, reading and literature, as well
as the researcher's reflections generated during the application of the DS developed during the
Professional Master's Degree in Teaching at Basic Education of the Stricto Sensu Graduate
Program at CEPAE/UFG. Public and free access to the educational product will be available
on digital platforms such as "Educapes", "Escola Digital", aimed at teachers and professionals
educators and "Medium.com", which can be accessed by the general community.
