Resumo

The growing demand for vegetables and the requirement to market with more quality products and pesticide-free has led producers to cultivate many vegetables hydroponically in the State of Goiás. Hydroponics is growing plants without using soil, only in nutrient solution. The process of hydroponics has many advantages over traditional farming ways, for example: lower exposures to adverse weather, protection against pests and diseases, fast economic return and better quality of the finish product as a function of balancing the supply of nutrients, cleaner product, free of pesticides, little need for labor, production close to consumption centers, low consumption of water and light work. Within this context, this study aimed to verify the current status of hydroponic cultivation of vegetables in the State of Goiás through a diagnosis made with producers. 32 producers are cataloged only 16 were visited and interviewed were discovered. These producers are in the cities of Goiânia, Goianápolis, Anápolis, Jatai, Rio Verde, Senador Canedo, Posse, Itumbiara, Catalão, Valpaíso de Goiás, Cristalina, Morrinhos, Formosa, Jussara, Santa Helena de Goiás, Mineiros, Caçu, Serranópolis, Paraúna e Aparecida de Goiânia. The survey revealed that producers face many difficulties in hydroponic cultivation, lack of service, lack of research involving the segment in the state of Goiás, problems with pests, diseases, lack of energy, pH and CE devices with measurement problems, production losses due to high temperature, inefficient seedling production and mismanagement of the entire hydroponic system. It was identified that the hydroponics industry is needy, requiring partnerships with public and private institutions to try to change this scenario.
