Resumo

The study of the erosive processes of soils located at the edges of reservoirs has been a subject discussed in the scientific milieu since 1900. The measurement of soil mass loss parameters that combine the effects of water and wave agents is still scarce in Brazil, which promotes the need to deepen studies that validate the control of these parameters in the execution of reservoir projects, aiming at a policy of environmental control. In this way, the present work aims to create a methodological proposal for the evaluation of the behavior of the borders of reservoirs due to the water erosion process caused by the impact of waves, under dynamics of mass loss evaluation by means of the construction of a Hydraulic channel In order to perform the tests, a hydraulic channel was constructed coupled to an electric motor that rotates a disk with a metal rod to a flap type wave beater, controlled by automation of a frequency inverter calibrated to simulate waves impact, with known characteristics, in conditioned soil samples in a slope that simulates field conditions. The equipment allows the execution of tests on deformed and undisturbed samples. For the tests, a fine granulometry soil classified with a low compressibility plastic laterict clay, collected at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Federal University of Goiás. The soil was compressed statically into a sample holder for assessment, qualitatively and quantitatively, the influence of frequency waves, by testing with a ramp slope of 45 ° and frequencies of 0.33, 0.50 and 0.66Hz and slope inclination of the influence, by means of tests with the same wave energy for varying slopes at 30 °, 45 ° and 60 ° in the loss of mass of deformed soil samples. As a result, it was noticed that the frequency has direct influence on mass loss, with linear relation, which allows to extrapolate to a same slope mass loss results for different frequencies. For the tests with the same energy of waves with variable slopes, it was noticed that, as the slope of the ramp is decreased, the loss of mass also increases in a linear relation. Thus, it is concluded that the methodological proposal of the creation of the hydraulic channel with wave beater was effective and it proves to be a good method for the qualitative evaluation of mass loss for soils located in edges of reservoirs of UHEs.
