Resumo

The search for more efficient and profitable production systems is well connected with the choice of genetic resources that optimize genetic trinomics, nutrition and sanity. Measuring the density of the resources, we have a Senepol breed, an adapted taurine, which represents an interesting option of use. As this breed as controller of genetic parameters for economic aspects is non-existent, the focus of this work is the estimation of the genetic parameters of the growth, reproductive and carcass traits of Senepol cattle. The parameters for the traits of birth weight (BW), weight at 120 days of age (W120), weaning weight (WW), yearling age weight (YW), scrotal circumference overhead (SC), backfat thickness (BF), rib eye area (REA) and slaughter conformation at yearling age (SCY). The themes were used, group of contemporaries, and age of cow at birth as covariate. maternal and residual permanent environment. As for post-weaning characteristics, the maternal genetic effect of the permanent environment and the age of the cow as a covariate were not included. Consider null covariance between the direct and maternal twins. The (co) variance components were obtained, using the GIBBS2F90 software, assuming an animal model for 4 traits (BW, W120, WW and YW) and another one for 5 traits (YW, SC, BF, REA and SCY). The following statistics were obtained for BW (0.19), W120 (0.22), WW (0.15), YW (0.23), SC (0.25), BF (0.11), REA (0.26) and SCY (0.12) indicated the probability of genetic selection and incorporation in the herd. As for the occurrence of maternal herds for BW (0,09), W120 (0,11) and WW (0,10), genetic alterations of the progenies were recorded. Genetic variations between growth variables ranged from 0.49 to 0.94 and between growth traits, the rate of change from 0.17 to 0.81. Genetic conditions between reproductive and starting traits were low from 0.02 to 0.17. The coefficients of genetic correlations, in general, were favorable. The result is that there is a genetic variability among cattle of the breed and that the selection of the genetic gene is part of the selection process. This study will make it possible to better delineate the Senepol breed breeding program, thus providing a better response to breed selection.
