Características físicas e microbiológicas do centro tendíneo diafragmático bovino conservado em glicerina a 98% e no glutaraldeído a 4%

Resumo

Ten 5 to 6 mm width strips of fresh, 4% glutaraldehyde and 98% glycerine conserved bovine diaphragmatic tendineous center for 30 days was subjected to tension and extension physical tests until rupture to evaluation the influence of both conservative agents in tissue, aiming it utilization in reconstructive surgery. At this time, the antiseptic action of the conservative agents in fresh and conserved samples was evaluated through the microbiological tests. The physical tests showed that seven 4% glutaraldehyde conserved samples supported higher tensile strenght than fresh and 98% glycerine conserved samples. Two samples showed similar behaviour about rupture point for both conservative agents. In only one sample the fresh strip showed a higher rupture point than boviconserved strips. The bacterial growth was observed in four fresh samples only. The same test in conserved strips didn’t show bacterial growth. It follows that 4% glutaraldehyde and 98% glycerine was efficient as conservative agents for bovine diaphragmatic tendineous center and showing efficiency antiseptic activity during 30 days.
