Desempenho de suínos alimentados com diferentes níveis de inclusão de cama de frango nas fases de crescimento e terminação

Abstract

This research was conducted in order to evaluate the performance of swine fed different levels of broiler litter in rations, in growing and finishing phase, and the economical aspects. One hundred ninety two crossbred Agroceres piglets were distributed in 16 experimental pens. The treatments consisted in four levels of inclusion of litter in growing diets (0%, 6%, 12% and 18%), and in finishing diets (0%, 10%, 20% and 30%). The broiler litter used was based in rice hulls, not sieved, grieved, and obtained in the region under the automatic feeder. In the growing period, no difference were observed in weight gain and feed intake in all treatments. The animals fed rations with broiler litter showed similar feed conversion (P>0,05), however differences were observed between levels of 0% and 18% (P<0,05). In the finishing period the average daiIy weight gain for the animals that received broiler litter was similar for animals that received 10% of litter. The weight gain of animals that did not receive litter was better than the animals that atireceive 20% and 30% of litter. The best feed conversion ratio was observed in the animals that received diets without litter. Based in these results it is possible to use 12% of broiler litter inclusion in growing and 10% in finishing rations. The economic analyses showed the best results for animals fed rations without broiler litter.
