Diagnóstico morfológico, aspectos clínicos e epidemiológicos de neoplasias em grandes felídeos

Resumo

Neoplasms are poorly reported in the "big cats" species. Usually the diagnosis is determined by pathology added by immunohistochemistry. Surgical treatment is the most widely adopted, but the postoperative complications and the difficulty of restraint may lead patients to septicemia and death. In this review it was possible to collect to reports on thread of the occurrence of breast carcinoma, mast cell tumor, lymphoma, calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor, mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the salivary gland, uterine leiomyoma, malignant pleural mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma of the gallbladder on these related species. In the big cats, the tumors are diagnosed in advanced clinical stage or findings during the necropsy.
