Resumo

A greenhouse experiment with soils from five Brazilian savannah (cerrado) sites – Alfisol (PVAe), Oxisol (LVd, LVdf, LVAd), and Quartzipsamment (RQo) – was carried out and phosphorus availability from natural phosphatic fertilizers (Arad phosphate – Israel; phosphoric bauxite – Senegal; and Araxá phosphate – Brazil) was evaluated. The Mehlich-1, Mehlich-3 and resin extractants were used. A completely randomized design with eleven treatments and three replications was used. Response curves with triple superphosphate (TSP) and inclusion of phosphatic sources were used, with millet (Pennisetum thyphoides) as testing crop. Obtained data showed that: (i) the applied phosphates showed higher efficiency on dystrophic Oxisols than on the sandy soil (Quartzipsamment); (ii) Arad and Phospal phosphates are good alternatives as phosphorus suppliers for savannah soils and crops; (iii) Mehlich-1, Mehlich-3, and resin extractants showed equivalent performance on the estimation of soil available P, applied as triple superphosphate.
