Resumo
Lymphoma is the most common malignancy in domestic cats. The aim is to report a
case of lymphoma mediastinal associated with intense parasitism of the lung and
liver. The diagnosis was given in pathology, after the animal has progressive weight
loss and dyspnoea shortly before death. At necropsy there was parasitism by
Platynosomum fastosum in biliary system and Aelurostrongylus abstrusus in the lung.
Moreover, a cranial lung mediastinal neoplastic mass was found and was diagnosed
microscopy as high grade malignancy lymphoma. Thus, it is concluded that the
cause of death of the cat was a mediastinum high grade lymphoma.
