Complicações pós-cirúrgicas após a excisão de carcinoma de células escamosas na região perianal em fêmea equina

Resumo

The aim of this paper was to report the complications after surgical resection of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in a mare and treatment measures adopted in the postoperative period. It was attended in Large Animal Surgery Department, Campus Jataí - UFG, a female equine, five years old, with nodule in perianal and peri-vulvar region, whose histopathological evaluation revealed CCE. Two days after tumor removal, the animal entered in colic, which symptomatology persisted for 20 days, been adopted clinical treatment and manual removal of feces, because the defecation was difficult by damage to the adjacent muscle and anal sphincter. The insistence of the proposed treatment was effective, as soon as the wound healed and the animal recovered the ability to move the sphincter, the intestinal transit normalized.
