Métodos de conservação, obtenção e avaliação de implantes cartilaginosos

Resumo

Biomaterials have being widely used in medicine and dentistry in orthopedic and dental prostheses. In veterinary medicine, the use of prostheses for reconstructive surgeries has become common practice, especially due to the low cost, ease of obtaining and lower possibility of the occurrence of complications such as rejection. Different species of animals show defects in the abdominal wall, requiring reconstructive surgical procedures performed in order to restructure the anatomical planes. Various materials have been worked and prepared for application to the abdominal wall, in order to serve as reinforcement or stimulate the wound healing process. The biological membranes have low toxicity to be formed in almost its entirety, collagen and elastin. The main storage methods used such membranes are 98% glycerin and glutaraldehyde, and for the obtaining methods highlights the use of the alkaline solution. After the treatment methods of these cartilages get yourself a biocompatible material can be used in implants to help wound healing, decreasing the chances of exacerbated inflammatory responses responsible for the rejection of the biomaterial.
