Resumo

This study aimed to discuss how the teacher training Chemistry in a split degree offered by the State University of Goias contributed to improve the teaching practice of teachers in service. The study was regarded as a case study and were used as instruments to collect data and the semi structured interview teacher with a bachelor discharged from the split focus of study, observation of lessons from this document analysis of teacher and educational project of the course. From the analysis, observed that the training in terms of content knowledge and pedagogical content was inadequate because it did not allow the teacher to build a chemical known to him allowed the preparation of their classes consistently. Thus, it is understood that degree split not fulfilled the role of training teachers, but only for diplomatic them meet a legal advice.
