Estimativas de variâncias e herdabilidades de algumas características primárias e secundárias da produção de grãos em soja (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)

Resumo

The present work aimed to estimate the variance components and the heritabilities of primary and secondary traits in the production of grains, as well as to verify the more promising population, in relation to the possibility of gains, among the studied ones. The experimental material consisted of three different populations, which were conducted in " Bulk " until generation F4. The generation in which the study was accomplished (F5), was conducted on the scheme of segregant lines inserted between the cultivars-pattern, in the agricultural year 1996/97, in Viçosa - Minas Gerais State. The results showed that under these work conditions the variance component estimation method is simple and easily performed, as well as it can be applied on any generation proceeding from self-fertilization. In relation to crossings, the one of higher genetic variation was CR3 (‘CEPS 89-26’ x ‘FT – Cristalina’), showing itself to be the most promising as to future gains by selection, and the highest heritabilities were verified in the secondary traits, and in general those associated to the average of families showed to be of larger magnitudes.
