Resumo
Nowadays, the subject of teacher education has become an important matter in the
pedagogical field. There is a lot of discussion related to the technical and scientific knowledge
that teachers need to practice, however, this education has been thought based on the technical
rationality that prevailed on modernity. In this background, based on a bibliographical
research, this study aims to reflect on the contributions, possibilities and limitations of
psychoanalysis related to the idea of teacher education. The psycho-pedagogical ideal of the
educational field was also questioned, including how this ideal works as a mediation to the
educative process. The bibliographical research was based on authors such as Freud, Saviani,
Libâneo, Kupfer, Lajonquière, Voltolini and Resende, among others. We concluded that
psychoanalysis contribute to education as it unveil conflicts, tensions, and contradictions of
reality, pointing the structural impossibility inherent to the educative act, as it enables a
Listing Ethics and a recognition of the desire subject on the educational process.
