Item Adesão de mulheres de 18 a 50 anos ao exame colpocitológico na estratégia saúde da família(2012-07) Oliveira, Wágna Maria de Araújo; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Mendonça, Brenda de Oliveira Monteiro; Silva, Alzilene Alves da; Santos, Laís Carla Faria; Nascimento, Lara Cristina D. doA descriptive exploratory study of quantitative nature with the aim of evaluating the adherence of women to the smear test in the Health Family Strategy of Iporá, Goiás, Brazil. The study sample consisted of 114 women from 18 to 50 years old who attended the Family Health Strategy to have a smear test in October and November 2010. The descriptive analysis performed using Epi Info 3.5.1 showed that the higher level of adherence is in the 46 to 50 years age group (24%) and the lower level is at 18 to 20 and 41 to 45 years (10% each). Among the interviewees, 70% had the test every two years or less and 12% had never had it. The Family Health Strategy unit with higher adherence was Jadim Monte Alto with 16%, and the lower was Umuarama district with 8%. It was concluded that prevention is the main reason for women to take the smear test.Item Afonia com etiologia desconhecida: relato de caso(2010-06) Guimarães, Valeriana de Castro; Siqueira, Paulo Humberto; Castro, Victor Labres da Silva; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Porto, Celmo CelenoThe conversion aphonia is defined as the total loss of voice, is a rare disease that often affects women. The diagnosis is clinical, because there are no changes in the laryngeal structures. To describe a case of conversion aphonia, seen in a public hospital in the Midwest of Brazil. Patient 32 years old female, complaining of hoarseness for two days without other apparent symptoms. The examinations revealed no changes in the laryngeal structures and / or extra laryngeal. Stages of care have been described since the initial consultation to the recovery of the patient. It is important to consider the psycho-emotional aspects involving patients with voice disorders since they may cause or modify the symptoms and affect the prognosis.Item A antissepsia cirúrgica das mãos no cotidiano de um centro cirúrgico(2012) Barreto, Regiane Aparecida dos Santos Soares; Vilefort, Larissa Oliveira Rocha; Souza, Adenícia Custódia Silva e; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Paula, Gabriella Ribeiro de; Prado, Marinésia Aparecida doThe surgical hand antisepsis should be performed before procedures at high risk of contamination, such as surgery, and is constituted of important measure for prevention of surgical site infections. This study aimed to observe and evaluate the practice of surgical hand antisepsis in a surgical center in a teaching hospital. A quantitative descriptive study, conducted in 2009, in the operating room of a teaching hospital in GoiâniaGO, with members of surgical teams. Of the 54 surgical hand antisepsis observed in 87% was brushing erroneous forearms and back of hands, 94,5% were not kept unidirectional movements, and 31,5% of professionals contaminated hands after antisepsis.Item Aspectos históricos e socioculturais da população surda(2013-12) Reis, Soraya Bianca; Chaveiro, Neuma; Freitas, Adriana Ribeiro de; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Porto, Celmo Celeno; Fleck, Marcelo Pio de AlmeidaThis work redeems, contextualizes and features the social, historical and cultural aspects of the deaf community that uses the Brazilian Sign Language focusing on the social and anthropological model. The scope of this study was to conduct a bibliographical review in scientific textbooks and articles available in the Virtual Health Library, irrespective of the date of publication. 102 articles and 53 books were located, including 33 textbooks and 26 articles (four from the Lilacs database and 22 from the Medline database) that constituted the sample. Today, in contrast with the past, there are laws that guarantee the right to communication and attendance by means of the Brazilian Sign Language. The repercussion, acceptance and inclusion in health policies of the decrees enshrined in Brazilian laws is a major priority.Item Assistência ao surdo na área de saúde como fator de inclusão social(2005) Chaveiro, Neuma; Barbosa, Maria AlvesThe purposes of this article are to discuss the assistance to deaf people in the health area as a factor of social inclusion; to investigate with the deaf how the link with health workers is established; and to verify the deaf people’s perception of the presence of sign language interpreters when they get health assistance. This is a descriptive and analytical survey with a qualitative approach carried out at a special school in Goiânia. The sample was comprised of 20 deaf students, and semi-structured interviews were used to collect the data. It was verified that the link is established when health workers are able to communicate with the deaf. The inclusion of the deaf in the health services is an evidence of difficulties in communication. It was concluded that the professional- client relationship must be improved, that the link occurs when the client feels himself/ herself understood, and that the presence of an interpreter improves but is not enough to ensure the inclusion of the deaf.Item Assistência universitária - compromisso social(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2005-12) Barreto, Ivete Santos; Bezerra, Ana Lúcia Queiroz; Barbosa, Maria AlvesItem Association between maternal and fetal weight gain: cohort study(2012) Costa, Bárbara Miranda Ferreira; Paulinelli, Régis Resende; Barbosa, Maria AlvesCONTEXTO E OBJETIVO: O ganho de peso gestacional excessivo está relacionado a inúmeras complicações tanto maternas como fetais, como por exemplo, a macrossomia. Esta, por sua vez, pode aumentar o risco de morte intra-uterina, necessidade de cuidados intensivos, fraturas, hiperbilirrubinemia neonatal, paralisia do plexo braquial e obesidade na infância e fase adulta. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a associação do ganho de peso gestacional com o ganho de peso fetal e a incidência de macrossomia em duas maternidades. TIPO DE ESTUDO E LOCAL: Estudo de coorte em duas maternidades públicas em Goiânia, Brasil. MÉTODOS: Estudo de coorte com 200 gestantes saudáveis com índice de massa corporal normal, divididas em dois grupos, um com ganho de peso adequado e o outro com peso excessivo na gravidez. RESULTADOS: As coortes foram semelhantes quanto à idade materna, renda per capita, escolaridade e comportamento reprodutivo. O peso fetal foi maior na coorte de ganho de peso materno excessivo (3388,83 g ± 514,44 g) do que na de peso normal (3175,86 g ± 413,70 g) (P < 0,01). A incidência geral de macrossomia foi 6,5% sendo de 13,0% (13 casos) na coorte com ganho de peso materno excessivo e de 0,0% (0 casos) na de peso adequado. CONCLUSÃO: O ganho de peso materno excessivo esteve associado ao aumento do peso fetal ao nascer e à incidência de macrossomia.Item Atenção básica à saúde do idoso no Brasil: limitações e desafios(2008) Araújo, Maria Aparecida da Silva; Brito, Charles; Barbosa, Maria AlvesThis article aims to reflect on the primary health care for eldery in Brazil. The models and paradigms of assistance for the elderly are discussed, looking at new perspectives to overcome the old model of care to the elderly, including its challenges, barriers, and its social, cultural, psychological and physical complexity.Item Atendimento à pessoa surda que utiliza a língua de sinais na perspectiva do profissional da saúde(2010-12) Chaveiro, Neuma; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Porto, Celmo Celeno; Munari, Denize Bouttelet; Medeiros, Marcelo; Duarte, Soraya Bianca ReisThis is a descriptive and analytical research with a qualitative approach, which aims to characterize the communication of health professionals with the deaf person and describe features of the relationship. The corpus was composed of seven professionals, data were collected in Goiânia, and they were analyzed using content analysis. Two categories were analyzed: communication between healthcare professionals and deaf people using sign language, and relationship resources with the deaf person. In the first category, the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) was pointed out as an important communication tool in caring of deaf people. In the second category, the work of the translator and interpreter of LIBRAS was pointed out. It was found that professionals are not adequately prepared to care for the deaf person and it is concluded that verbal communication has not been sufficient to establish the link between them.Item Avaliação auditiva no recém-nascido e suas implicações éticas(2010) Guimarãe, Valeriana de Castro; Barbosa, Maria AlvesThe study has as purpose to examine the bibliographic production that investigates the use of the test of otoacoustic emissions in newborn babies done in hospitals. It gives emphasis in the approval of the mentioned article along the Research Ethics Committee. The method consists on bibliographic revision of national articles published in Brazilian journals. The research was realized in databases of the virtual library in health (http://www.bireme.br) and at the search engine Google (http://www.google.com.br), considering the period of 2004 to 2006. The key words used were: otoacoustic emissions and hearing triage or equivalent expressions in newborn babies in hospitals. Another source was the manual search in reference lists of the selected articles. After the application of the inclusion rules, nine articles were selected in five different journals. The citation of the approval of the Ethics Committee and the signature of the Free Consent Term, which were cleared by the responsible, were present in the majority of the articles and it demonstrates the concern and respect of the researchers of this area with the participant citizen on the study.Item Avaliação clínica de crianças e adolescentes asmáticos: relevância da atenção interdisciplinar(Marcelo Medeiros, 2015-09-30) Siqueira, Karina Machado; Pereira, Geovanna Líscio; Bittencourt, André Luiz; Colodino, Camila Silva; Fernandes, Isabela Cristine Ferreira; Barbosa, Maria AlvesDescriptive, retrospective study, aimed to evaluate clinical conditions of asthmatic children and adolescents at the beginning of treatment and after six months of accompaniment by a multi-professional team, focused on interdisciplinary attention. A research developed in a reference ambulatory for tertiary attention of infant asthma, in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil. Data was collected from 101 medical records from January and March 2013. Children and adolescents were predominantly male (70,3%), aged between two and five years (31,7%) and clinically classified as moderated persistent asthma (47,6%). After following them for six months, it was seen that most (64,4%) obtained total or partial control of the disease, reduction of all symptoms identified in the first consultation and presented high adherence to the proposed pharmacological treatment (70,3%). Interdisciplinary attention can result in improved clinical control and contribute to advances in assistance quality to asthmatic children and adolescents.Item Avaliação da adoção das medidas de precauções padrão em categorias específicas de profissionais de saúde(Joaquim Tomé de Sousa, 1999-12) Pereira, Tatiane M.; Castro, Kézia F.; Santos, Tatiana O.; Prado, Marinésia Aparecida do; Junqueira, Ana Luiza Neto; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Teles, Sheila AraújoA survey of health care workers who were thought likely have frequent and intensive exposures to blood and other body fluids, anaesthetists, was carried out to asses the frequency of self-reported occupational exposures to blood and other body fluids, the knowledge and the compliance with regard standard precautions. Of all interviewed profissionals, 62.8% reported occupational exposures to blood and/or other body fluids by percutaneous injuries and/or mucous membranes contacts. All profissionals reported knowledge about standard precautions and the most of them assumed the use of these precautions, and hepatitis B vaccination. Nevertheless was observed a poor adherence to standard precautions in their practices, principally, concerning the use of masks, protective eyeglasses and handwashings. This study emphasizes the importance of developing new strategies for precautions standards training.Item Avaliação da qualidade de vida de portadores de insuficiência renal crônica em diálise renal(2011-07) Franco, Letícia Cunha; Zatta, Laildice Teles; Vasconcelos, Patrícia Pereira de; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Santos Júnior, Santana; Rosa, L. F. de OliveiraObjetivo: Evaluar la calidad de vida de las personas con Insuficiencia Renal Crónica (IRC) en hemodiálisis, a través de KDQOL TM-SF. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, analítico y cuantitativo, utilizando como instrumento para recolectar datos el KDQOL- SF TM, en una muestra de 32 pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica. Las respuestas a las preguntas del cuestionario se distribuyeron en una escala dicotómica y en escalas tipo Likert, con puntuación que va desde diez hasta tres. Resultados: Las puntuaciones más altas fueron en los campos: estímulo del equipo de hemodiálisis (98, 44), función sexual (94,14) y síntomas y problemas (76,04). Los menores encontrados: sobrecarga de la enfermedad renal (12.34), función física (23,44) y apoyo social (30,21). The diagnostic methods and the role of interruption of pregnancy are controversial subjects regarding treatment and prognosis. The impact of treatment on the fertility of the patient and the effects of chemotherapy in newborns, are also controversial. This article presents the report of the case of a pregnant woman with breast cancer, as well as a discussion of the diagnostic, therapeutic and clinical implications. This is a 35 years old patient, 10 weeks pregnant with a 2 cm palpable lump in the right breast and a 1 cm lymph node in the ipslateral axilla with 4 months of complain. Mammography and ultrasonography showed the nodule, which according to the cytologic and histopathologic examination, was compatible with an invasive ductal carcinoma in clinical stage IIB. The patient underwent to a radical mastectomy followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and hormone therapy. After the cesarean, the patient did not show any evidence of disease and her child was healthy. Currently, she is asymptomatic in use of tamoxifen and the child is unchanged after four years of follow up.Item Casas de parto: sua importância na humanização da assistência ao parto e nascimento(2005-12-29) Martins, Cleusa Alves; Barbosa, Maria AlvesEste trabalho apresenta reflexões sobre a importância do cuidar em obstetrícia, sobretudo a influência das Casas de Parto no sentido de nortear uma assistência humanizada e integral aos seus clientes. Objetiva discutir a importância da Casa de Parto na concretização do atendimento humanizado à parturiente. Salienta as deficiências do atual sistema de assistência à saúde da parturiente, que ainda se caracteriza por concepções do modelo biomédico e condutas que, muitas vezes, expõe a cliente a situações de desrespeito e exclusão. Propõe-se a assistência de Enfermagem respaldada em pilares como o conhecimento técnico-científico e habilidades nas relações intra e interpessoais, reverenciando o cuidado em saúde como norteador das condutas do profissional. Enfatiza-se a necessidade de buscar a assistência humanizada à mulher no ciclo gravídico-puerperal, tornando-a, por meio de um processo saudável de comunicação, a protagonista do evento que envolve atendimento integral obstétrico e neonatal. Foram definidas duas categorias de análises: Casas de Parto e Humanização; O Cuidar no Processo do Nascimento. Concluiu-se que a Casa de Parto apresenta como uma opção adequada que proporcione assistência humanizada à parturiente e familiares, e sua concretização caminha, também, por mudança de postura do profissional de saúde. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This article presents reflections about the importance of care in obstetrics, above all about the infuence of Birth Centers on the way of whole and humanizing assistance for their clients. It aims to discuss the importance of Birth Centers to render concrete a humanizing assitance for the parturient. It points out the deficiency of the actual health assistance system to the parturient that still is caracterized by conceptions of the biomedical model besides conducts that, many times, exposes the client to situations of disrespect and exclusion. It proposes nursing assistance based on pillars such as scientific and technical knowledge and skills in the relations between the person and the self and with the others, honoring health care as a guideline of professionals’ conducts. The need to search for a humanizing assistance to women in puerperal-pregnancy cycle is emphasized, transforming them in the protagonist of the event that involves full obstetrics and neonatal assitance, using means like a healthy communication process. Two categories of analysis were defined: Birth Centers and Humanization; Care in Birth Process. It was concluded that Birth Centers presents a proper option that provides a humanizing assitance for the parturient and her family and that its concretization depends on the modification of the posture of health professionals.Item Classificação internacional das atividades de enfermagem: uma amostra da realidade brasileira(1993-12) Yoshioca, Magda Rojas; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Narchi, Nadia Zanon; Cruz, Isabel Cristina Fonseca da; Bezerra, Ana Lucia Queiroz; Imanichi, Rose MeireThe study was compounded by bibliography collecting with the objective of identifying terms referred to nursing activities: to diagnose, prescribe and evaluate. The data collecting was done by making use of Brazilian nursing journals, dissertations and the theses from nursing school's heap of Brazilian library belonging to Universidade de Sao Paulo. Catalogues and nursing researches from the Research and Study Center from Brazilian Nursing Association were used , for the period of time between 1 988 and 1 992. From 1 1 9 issues which were found it was shown that 53,5% referred to a nursing prescription term, 39,0% was related to nursing diagnostic and 7,5% to assistance evaluation. Each of these terms got different denominations which show the patterned language necessity.Item Comunicação da equipe de enfermagem com deficiente auditivo com surdez severa: um estudo exploratório(Joaquim Tomé de Sousa, 2000-12) Rosa, Carmelita Gomes; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Bachion, Maria MárciaThis exploratory study has the finality to identify related aspects to the nursing staff with the auditive handicapped patient with severe deafness. The subjects were 31 members of the nursing staff of the Medical and Surgical Clinics of a University Hospital in the State of Goiás, using a questionary as a data acess tool. The results shows us the resources used by nursing staff to promote the communication with this kind of patient, the difficults that they have and how they deal with these situation. We hope that this paper can serve as a baseline to new research in order to minimize the interaction barrier between the nursing staff and severe deaf patients.Item A comunicação profissional de saúde x cliente diante das novas tecnologias(1998-03) Lopes, Carmen Luci Rodrigues; Barbosa, Maria Alves; Teixeira, Maria Eunice Medeiros; Coelho, Renata BenevidesEstudo descritivo exploratório com abordagem quanti-qualitativa realizado em unidades das redes pública e privada localizadas em Goiânia-Go., nos meses de agosto e setembro de 1997 com objetivos de averiguar o entendimento dos clientes a respeito da comunicação dos profissionais que executam os exames de alta tecnologia e detectar junto ao cliente a existência de orientação sobre o exame a ser realizado e o que sentem durante a realização destes. A população constitui-se de clientes de ambos os sexos que se submeteram a exames diagnósticos de alta tecnologia. Os dados foram coletados pelas pesquisadoras e auxiliares de pesquisa, mediante entrevista semi-estruturada entre os clientes sujeitos do estudo. Através dos resultados, concluímos que a maioria dos clientes não recebem orientação, deixaram de pedir informações sobre o exame realizado por vários motivos, inclusive receio do desconhecido. A comunicação foi restrita. Medo da dor, do resultado, desconforto foram também relatados.
