Item Ação, revelação e subjetividade: Arendt e Nietzsche(2015-06) Silva, Adriano CorreiaIn The human condition (1958), Hannah Arendt argues that the constitution of the subjectivity of an individual is closely linked to action, and to its predicaments. With remarkable harmony this position relates to her appropriation of Nietzsche in the last section of the chapter on action in this work. In this paper we will underline, notwithstanding, that such relationship have close connection with his studies on Nietzsche’s moral in the early 1950s, as may be seen in his Journals of thought (Denktagebuch)Item Entre a palavra e a ação: o compromisso de Tocqueville com a liberdade(2007) Reis, Helena Esser dosInvestigations around foundations and perspectives of political philosophy carried us to the analysis of academical texts and political speeches made by Alexis de Tocqueville in order to elucidate the nexus between articulated word – as much as it expresses a philosophical thinking about political matters – and articulated word in political speeches – as much as it provides the passage from thinking to action. Going forward and backward from word to action, in company of Tocqueville, we are looking to understand how our author assumes and makes his fundamental compromises with liberty and, so doing, we come back to the subject of what are the inherent tasks of political philosophy.Item Pierre Hadot e os exercícios espirituais: a filosofia entre a ação e o discurso(2011-06) Almeida, Fábio Ferreira deItem O que nos faz agir? Discussões filosóficas sobre os fundamentos dos direitos humanos(2014-12) Reis, Helena Esser dosThe discussion surrounding human rights seems to me an important contribution that the ones who dedicate to political philosophy can give to the contemporary globalized and interdependent world. Analyzing ideas and conceptions that appear obvious or unanswerable and by means of the interdisciplinary academic dialogue and with people in general, we can seek for bigger clarity about the foundations of the human action. It’s not about offering answers, but about thinking and speaking publically about the insertion and the responsibility of people in the world. Here, then, the purpose of my exposition: having the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a base, I invite you to talk about what makes us act. Or, more precisely, about the common act – to one another – so that everyone can participate integrating the community. I will begin investigating some articles of the Declaration, trying to discern what must guide the actions of each individual and the civil and political institutions. Next, evidencing the need – recognized by the Declaration itself – of an effort of teaching and education for the effectuation of actions based on the respect to its principles, we will pass to discuss the kind of effort requested. Finally we will search to understand the sense that teaching and education gain in the ambit of the Declaration discussing about the possibility of adjustment between principles and action. However, this seems to me the Gordian knot of effectiveness of human rights in the contemporary world. There is not an answer; I believe that it’s a construction to be made by the public discussion, with the participation of all. Well, it’s to this discussion that I invite you.Item Sobre o trágico na ação: Arendt (e Nietzsche)(2011-05) Silva, Adriano CorreiaThis paper I intend to examine preliminarily the possibility of identifying a tragic sense of human action, inspired by the Hannah Arendt’s work, connected with some basics Nietzsche’s insights. Arendt and Nietzsche understand human action as unavoidably contingent, including with regard to the relationship between agent and act. By this reason, the action is always exposed to risk and vicissitudes, so that the capacity to start something new is always dependent on a reconciled relationship with the past. Our hypothesis consists in argue that the dynamic of forgiveness in Arendt’s The human condition is analogous to the role of forgetting in Nietzsche’s thinking.
