Tétano acidental. análise estatística de 62 casos internados no hospital "Oswaldo Cruz" (H.O.C.)

Abstract

The following conclusions have been withdroun: 1 — in most cases we found no association among the studied variables on account of insufficient of cases; 2 — Incubation period and progression time of the disease have not influenciated recovery or death rate; 3 — As increase in death rate was noticed in individuais above 30 yars of age; 4 — NO relation was found between sex and death rate; 5 — espences for care of these 62 cases were enough to provide prophylaxis to more than 45.000 individuais; 6 — the big incidence of tetanus in young individuais indicates that we have not an- éfficient prophylaxis program for such diseases; 7 — pacients frequently have to dislocate themselves through longa distances to Goiânia for treatment and increases the danger of tetanus. This indicates that there aren't enough medicai units in Goiás state . 8 - Were think that a larger number of tetanus cases should be studisd só we could withdrawon better conclusions. We suggest 2 that tetanus prophylaxis should de included in the already existing Public 3 Health Programs or in a shock campaign
