Orientações de saúde reprodutiva recebidas na escola – uma análise da pesquisa nacional de saúde do escolar nas capitais brasileiras e no Distrito Federal, 2009

Abstract

Objective: to describe the guidance received by adolescents on guidance at school on sexual health STD/AIDS, pregnancy prevention and free condom acquisition. Methodology: population inquire performed with a sample by conglomerates, in two stages, of 60,973 students in the 9th year of the basic level, at public and private schools in 26 Brazilian State capitals and the Federal District. Results: 89.4% (CI95%: 88.5-90.2) of the students of private schools and 87.5% (CI95%: 86.9-88.0) of public schools reported having received guidance at school on sexually communicable diseases; on pregnancy in adolescence, there was no difference between private 82.1% (CI95%: 81.1-83.1) and public schools, 81.1% (CI95%: 80.5-81.8); and on free condom acquisition, the greater frequency was in public, 71.4% (CI95%: 70.7-72.2), rather than private schools, 65.6% (CI95%: 64.2-66.7). Conclusion: the authors found that the theme has been approached in schools, contributing for behavior changes related to sexuality.
