A biquinha e sua várzea imaginada: memórias aquosas poéticas no Antropoceno

Abstract

Through aqueous memories, this essay highlights a biquinha (natural spring) as a singular urban experience contextualized within contemporary cities in the Anthropocene. It focuses on an aesthetic and political critique of the construction of an urban park on the site of a former biquinha located in the Jardim América neighborhood of Cariacica (ES), which was developed under a militarized design strategy that disregarded existing social, cultural, and landscape elements. The essay aims to articulate the problem and propose alternative possibilities offered by memory and imagination in the floodplain of the biquinha, through the creation of an audiovisual narrative.
