Princípio ativo de plantas do Cerrado brasileiro com potencial ação antimicrobiana em Helicobacter pylori e atividade gastroprotetora

Resumo

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that infects more than 50% of the world's population and is associated with the development of various gastric diseases. H. pylori resistance to antibiotics has been increasing, which justifies the development of antimicrobial alternatives with natural products. The objective of this research was to perform a bibliographic survey of the active principle of Brazilian cerrado plant species with antimicrobial action in H. pylori. The databases used for the research were: PUBMED, Cochrane Library, BVS, LILACS, SciELO, CAPES and Google academic. The search period was from january of 2008 to july of 2018. We selected 10 publications, 9 articles and 2 dissertations from the databases CAPES. Twelve species were found belonging to 10 families of cerrado plants with antibacterial activity in H. pylori. We conclude that the cerrado plants present a gastroprotection and vast therapeutic potential against H. pylori infection.
