Aspectos da suscetibilidade dos triatomíneos ao trypanosoma cruzi na busca de um modelo experimental

Abstract

The susceptibility of diífcrcnl triatominc species was investigaled hy applying xcnodiagnosis in m ice during acutc Trypanosoma cruzi infeclion ("Y" strain). Twenty insect bugs for cach onc of lhe studied species werc applied on iniecled mice. Each bug was examined individually. The species susceptibility in relation with the number of the excreted trypanossomes was : l* Dipetalogasler maximus, 2nd - Trialoma matogrossensts, 3rd - Rhodnius neglectus, 4"1 - T. infestans. The experiments were performed at 28 ± 1°C, 70 ± 5% of relative humidity and photoperiod of 12 h.
