Objetive: Evaluate the effect of luting lithium disilicate veneers with preheated resin
composite on the shrinkage stress, strain, vertical seating, and luting interface
compared to resin cement. Methods: Post-gel shrinkage, elastic modulus,
compressive and diametral tensile strength of the NX3 light-cure resin cement (RC)
and preheated Z100 resin composite (PHR) and were calculated to input into the 3D
finite element analysis (FEA).
Shrinkage stress/strain was analyzed using FEA. The shrinkage strain was analyzed
by strain gauge measurements. vertical seating was measured in both groups. The t
test was performed for the strain and Mann Whitney for the vertical seating. Results:
Shrinkage stress was lower when cemented with NX3 than Z100 PHR. No statistical
difference was found between the NX3 and Z100 PHR stain. No statistical difference
was found between NX3 and Z100 PHR vertical seating measurements in the same
stages. Cracks was found in SEM analysis in Z100 PHR luting interface.
Significance: Veneers luted with RC showed lower stress. No difference was found
between NX3 and Z100 PHR in the strain and vertical seating. Cracks formation was
found in Z100 PHR.
