Resumo
Defining a classroom timetable is a frequent and arduous task in educational institutions, such as in
universities and schools, that can be supported by interactive processes. However, there is a lack of highly
interactive methods that may help in specifying the characteristics of this type of problem and in finding a
high quality solution. In the present paper, we present an interactive optimization approach based on the
\textit{User Hints framework} to facilitate the construction of timetables in schools. An assessment
involving public elementary and high schools shows that the interactive approach effectively contributes to
finding a solution that suits the institution's needs.
