Análise de viabilidade econômica ex ante de uma planta de produção de Hermetia illucens utilizando resíduo de cervejaria em Goiás

Abstract

The growing interest in alternative protein sources has stimulated the development of production systems based on the bioconversion of agro-food residues. In this context, this study aims to analyze the ex ante economic and financial feasibility of a biofactory for the production of Hermetia illucens, structured through a hypothetical techno-economic model grounded on real market parameters. The research is characterized as applied, exploratory, and descriptive, with a quantitative approach, using secondary data obtained from scientific literature, public databases, and technical information from the sector. The feasibility assessment was conducted using classical investment appraisal indicators, including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period and Benefit–Cost Ratio. The results allowed for an assessment of the economic potential of the venture, highlighting the conditions under which the biofactory can prove viable by achieving an NPV of R$ 1,857,997.33, an IRR of 52.55% per semester, a B/C ratio of 1.35, and a payback period of 2.4 semester. The research also presented a scenario analysis varying the values of the products sold by 25% more and less. It concludes that the study, under current scenarios, is viable and offers a replicable model capable of supporting entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers in the development of sustainable production chains based on entomoculture.
