Resumo
The research seeks to analyze the effects of management practices on the competitiveness of small rural businesses, highlighting cooperativism as a relevant management strategy. The central problem is to identify which management practices are adopted by small producers and how cooperativism can increase competitiveness in the face of difficulties faced, such as access to credit and technical support. The general objective is to investigate the impact of these management practices on competitiveness. The justification for the research highlights the importance of small rural producers for Brazilian food sovereignty and the economy, highlighting that the
success of these businesses directly depends on the management practices employed. The research will be carried out using an exploratory and descriptive approach, with bibliographical review and field research with 25 rural producers. It is expected that the study identifies the most effective practices, and also serve as a basis for small producers to improve their competitiveness, contributing to strengthening cooperativism and food security. The study identified the most effective practices and also provided elements so that small properties can improve their competitiveness, contributing to the strengthening of cooperatives and food sovereignty.
