Alysson Drakkar e luxúria de Lillith: a gênese de um universo Black metal singular

Abstract

This exploratory research is configured as an "artist's thesis" and is structured autobiographically with an emphasis on self-narrative. It explores a life narrative to understand unique aspects of his development as an artist. To this end, based on a broad investigation of the author's life trajectory, it presents his singular artistic universe within the context of the black metal musical subgenre, offering a glimpse into the path he has taken over 40 years of experience with extreme music in the state of Goiás, Brazil. Through an archaeological retrospective of sensitive experiences, memories, and fragments of his life story, the author is led to revisit his schooling, presenting striking aspects of his artistic and musical development, up until his encounter with the academic field of arts, visual culture, and creative processes. Thus, this thesis articulates and contemplates analyses related to the process of life narrative and a distinct artistic development within the arts of black metal, a musical style derived from rock. It particularly highlights the artist/researcher's development, tied to his creative experiences as a musician and multimedia artist, spanning two decades of intense musical, graphic, and audiovisual production. The research presents the history and evolution of black metal, as a subcategory of heavy metal, from the author's unique perspective, culminating in his own retrospective as mentor of the band Luxúria de Lillith. Finally, through a dialogic process involving his memories and aesthetic and poetic formation, and drawing on a broader understanding of his uniqueness as an artist, the author presents the creative process of new musical, graphic, and audiovisual works that encompass the artistic aspect of this theoretical-practical investigation. These works are intended to reflect on the impact of deepening the autobiographical experience and its connections with creative processes as a possibility for self-transformation for the individuals involved.
