This article proposes to develop a systematic analysis between forced
labor in Brazil and its repercussions at the international level. A historical-reflective
investigation will be followed, observing the meaning of the Work during its evolution,
besides examining a concrete case that involved workers from the “Fazenda Brasil
Verde”, in order to reflect on the real meaning of decent work in Brazil. All this in
order to promote a meditation on the role of work in society, in view of the misfortune
of forced labor, a reality that hides or reduces the importance of work.
