Item Percepções sobre o estresse entre professores universitários(2005-12) Costa, Efraim Carlos; Bachion, Maria Márcia; Godoy, Lorany Ferreira de; Abreu, Ludmila de OrnellasThis descriptive work aimed to analyze the perceptions on stress among university teachers and their coping strategies. The study was developed at the ‘Universidade Federal de Goiás’ (Goias Public University). The data collection was performed though interviews recorded on tape. The BOGDAN & BIKLEN (1994) model was used for the analysis. Seventy one teachers participated. Four categories were identified: the teachers perceive Stress Indicators, such as body aches, somnolence, palpitation. Among the Stress Causes, they discern demands, multiple jobs, lack of money, multiple responsibilities, and problems in general. In this context, illnesses caused by stress have already been reported. The teachers mentioned “Ways of dealing with stress” that aim to reduce it through escape strategies, direct and indirect confront. It was concluded that the teachers perceive stress as a state of the body resulting from the process of confronting adverse situations, with expressions of bio-psychosocial nature and adverse consequences to the health, and that stress may be reduced through some strategies.Item O trabalho de equipe em enfermagem: revisão sistemática da literatura(2005-04) Abreu, Ludmila de Ornellas; Munari, Denize Bouttelet; Queiroz, Ana Lúcia Bezerra de; Fernandes, Carla Natalina da SilvaThe comprehension of the real meaning of team is fundamental, and even necessary for a good and efficient quality in healthcare with, requiring collective involvement of the nursing team. The present article aims to identify and to analyze the national scientific production in Nursing area about team work over the period from 1992 to 2002. It is a literature review proceeded using seven nursing journals. Twenty-four articles concerning the subject were identified and analyzed, with major ocurrence in the year of 1997. In the remaining years production is linear and less expressive regarding to publication by year. The issue most emphazised by authors as an estrategic tool and essential in team interaction, was communication.Item Vulnerabilidade ao estresse entre professores de uma universidade pública(2005) Bachion, Maria Márcia; Abreu, Ludmila de Ornellas; Godoy, Lorany Ferreira; Costa, Efraim CarlosWhen a person is living a period of vulnerability, he/she can experience the harmful effects of stress. This study aimed at assessing stress vulnerability among faculties and at studying the relationship between vulnerability and some socio-demographic characteristics of the subjects. Seventy-one faculty members of a public university in the Brazilian Midwest participated in the study, in 2002. Subjects completed a socio-demographic questionnaire and the stress vulnerability scale. The majority of the subjects (76,1%) had a low vulnerability to stress; 21,1% had moderate vulnerability and 2,8% had a high vulnerability to stress. A tendency to higher vulnerability has been observed among women, faculty members less than forty years old, having no partners, reporting three or four fields of practice and not having a graduate degree.
