Item A patologização global da vida e a produção de alimentos: efeitos na sociobiodiversidade do cerrado(2019) Chaveiro, Eguimar Felício; Calaça, Manoel; Lima, Valdivino Borges deThe hegemonic model of globalized economies, based on the imperative need for expansion at any cost -and everywhere -has effected an ontological predation. This predation is produced by the control of the agrifood empires in the production, distributionand negotiation of food, generating a monopoly economy and a deep mercantilization of life and all human components and nature, be it sun, air, genes, soil, water and labor power; knowledge, emotion and even creativity. This leads to large-scale illness. The Goiás Cerrado is an example of this belligerent attack on life. Specifically, the indigenous peoples of the Cerrado are affected by this model. His illness is an effect of this necrophiliac, reductive and violent attitude. The problem of labour consists of the following: how does the sociobiodiversity of the Goiás Cerrado situate itself in the sphere of global pathologization commanded by the agrifood empires? The dialogue with researchers in the field of agrarian geography and geopolitics; fieldwork; guidance at the undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral levels and especially the struggle to build a territorial approach to the Cerrado were the procedures taken to carry out the work.Item Bacia do rio Doce sob representações de múltiplos: uma abordagem geográfica(2011-08) Oliveira, Franciane Araújo de; Calaça, ManoelThe Rio Doce’s watershed is an essencial territorial unit in southwest part of Goiás, Brasil. It is located on the border of the municipalities of Jataí, Rio Verde, Caiapônia and Aparecida do Rio Doce. The vital importance of water and its correlation with other natural components, its economic importance and social relationships makes relevant its analysis from the multiple subjects’ representations. The present work derives from the master's-level research which is being conducted at the Institute for Social- Environmental Studies - IESA / UFG (Federal University of Goiás). One problem directed the reflections: what are the political meaning that Rio Doce’s hidrografic basin subjects give to the water? To accomplishment the study, it has been used qualitative data from semi-structured interviews, questionnaires and field diary. It was found that there are different aims in the range of actions performed by the actors (subjects), when using the water.Item Os desafios teóricos da geografia brasileira: rumos e desdobramentos(2013-06) Chaveiro, Eguimar FelícioAs from a central issue elaborated thus: “how the current brazilian geography stands before the changes of the country and its insertion in the world?” This article has the objective to presents, even if preliminarily, some topics or axis that presents the relationship of brazilian geography - or part of it - with the new dynamism of Brazil. Notably, talk to be a voice, among others, that commit to seek to understand the enunciation of this state of the art of this scientific field. The presupposition that guides the reflections will be based on some premise: although there is a horizontalization of geography courses for all regions of the country, there is still a hegemony of production in central-south; the advancement of geographical research, its delineation and its contents, are products of the expansion of post-graduation, which may lead to watched style. Along with these assumptions, it is opportune considering: we conceive that there is a new order of geographical production that set in conflict, not just the paradigms and theoretical componentes that underpinning this order, but the historical, social and political way that it unfold.
