Item As transformações do Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos (PAA) no estado de Goiás (2010 -2020): limites e possibilidades para a construção da soberania alimentar(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-08-20) Horacio Galvan, Gabriel; Oliveira, Adriano Rodrigues deThe article presents a historical balance of the Food Acquisition Program, which was structured as one of the main public policies for the construction of Food Security and Sovereignty in Brazil. We took the state of Goiás, Brazil, as a territorial cut, from 2010 to 2020. We analyzed the transformations that occurred in the Program, as well as the bottlenecks (project versus reality) for the insertion and permanence of the peasants. We observed that even with the limited scope from the spatial and social point of view, the Food Acquisition Program if strengthened, has great potential to contribute to Food Sovereignty. It generates income in the countryside and offers healthy and diversified foods in the city. The results also show the need to ensure budget allocation, given the changes in the State's political guidelines, as well as the restructuring of health requirements aimed at incorporating the diversified production of peasant agriculture.Item Movimentos contra-hegemônicos: o papel da mulher na agricultura campesina(2017-12) Nascimento, Aline Cristina; Rocha, Rosimary Gomes; Mendonça, Marcelo RodriguesThis article intends to highlight, firstly, the concept and characteristics of the Brazilian peasantry, as well as to identify this peasantry as a counter-hegemonic resistance against the capital in the field, from notions of counter-hegemonicglobalization developed by Boaventura de Sousa Santos. Secondly, it seeks to make a history of the brazilian agrarian question and analyze the insertion of women into peasant social movements that have historically insurged against the exploitation and oppression of the peasant way of life. Finally, it seeks to emphasize the relevance of the role of women in the processes of resistance in the countryside and to highlight thus, their struggle for agrarian reform, the viability of public policies for agriculture that guarantee the permanence in the field, the production of healthy foods and construction of a Popular Peasant Agriculture Project.Item Questão agrária e luta pela terra e pela reforma agrária no estado de Goiás no contexto das transformações territoriais(2020-04) Calaça, Manoel; Jesus, José Novais de; Borges, Ronan Eustáquio; Mauro, Rogério AntonioThis article analyzes the agrarian question and land-related fights in GoiásState, in the context of occupation and territorial transformations. Analyzesthe phases of Goiás territory occupation and formation processes the appropriation of indigenous territories, eventually leading to large estates and empowerment of influential people and “masters of the land”. After the waning of gold exploration, the main economic activity in colonial times, large farms were created to raise cattle and promote a subsistence agriculture. Since then, land grabbing, the expropriation and exclusionof workers and indigenous people have become common farmers ́ practices so as to have their land expanded. The few families related to land owners have constituted a new breed of land masters, which have bonds with the Federal government and have gained political control over state institutions. The working population was left to organize peasant movements and fight against abuses performed by the dominant class and for access to the land, as an alternative to survive and remain in the country. Important fights have been and will continue to be implemented to change such an unfair reality.
