Item Análise da imagem corporal de participantes de um centro de práticas corporais(Ana Márcia Silva, 2016-05) Almeida, Laylla Lanucy Brito; Baptista, Tadeu João RibeiroThe search for the ideal body is linked to the dissatisfaction with the current body and has created irreversible problems in society. The aim of this study is to analyze the body image (BI) of practitioners in a body practices center. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational research that used the nine silhouettes scale of Stunkardet al (1983) for the measurement of the BI. It was observed that more than 70% of the participants are unsatisfied with the current body, in which, the majority (47,69%) is unsatisfied for being overweight. In the analysis by gender, women showed greater discontent than men (p<0, 05). This is a young sample, in which the majority has the desire to reduce their silhouettes in order to look more like the ideal body model.Item A produção científica brasileira e a problematização acerca da meia idade: um estudo a partir dos periódicos do campo da Educação Física(2014) Antunes, Priscilla de Cesaro; Silva, Ana MárciaThe purpose of this study was to present an overview of the scientific production in Physical Education, focusing on the life moment identi fied as middle-age. 18 Brazilian journals related to the area were analyzed between 2000 and 2010, from which 79 articles focusing middle age were selected. The hypothesis was that this theme is poorly explored, seen that the selected articles represented only 2% of the 3.941 articles published in this period. It was observed, predominately, that: studies were field researches, conducted with women, in a large age interval; themes were physical fitness, diseases/risk factors, tests/equations validations, adhesion/motiva tion for exercise, sport, aging conception, special needs, sociability and retirement. The analysis suggested that these themes were treated from a biological perspective, and middle-age was character ized as a decline moment with physiological changes in the organism that bring life damages; authors have used references about old age to analyze/reflect data about middle-age, and disease, more than health, was the central parameter for the analyzed studies.
