Item O Direito à cidade e à moradia na perspectiva da regularização de “favelas e comunidades urbanas”: os desafios para a ocupação Alto da Boa Vista em Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2024-04-30) Pereira, Silvio Romeu Leitão; Martins, Adriano Augusto do Carmo; Kallas, Luana Miranda Esper; Cunha, Débora Ferreira da; Kneib, Érika CristineThis article addresses the growing challenge of housing deficit and the formation of informal urban areas such as “slums and urban communities,” highlighting the unequal distribution of decent housing. This scenario results from the capitalist valorization of urban space, which generally excludes lower-income populations from the regular housing market, leading them to seek solutions in informal settlements and reflecting significant urban inequalities. The relevance of the “right to the city” stands out as a critique of spatial dynamics that limit access to formal housing and active participation in urban life. This concept suggests an approach that understands the complexity of urban dynamics, emphasizing the need for solutions that promote social inclusion and access to adequate housing. The article investigates the feasibility of regularizing the occupation of Alto da Boa Vista in Aparecida de Goiânia, in the State of Goiás, a subnormal cluster mapped by the IBGE in 2019, questioning whether land regularization is possible under current legislation, with the goal of ensuring the right to decent housing. Using a methodology that includes literature review, analysis of secondary data on housing deficit, documentary research on urban and housing legislation, and a case study of Alto da Boa Vista, the study seeks to verify the possibility of legalizing the occupation, contributing to the discussion on public policies aimed at the regularization of informal areas and access to decent housing.Item O Direito à cidade e à moradia na perspectiva da regularização de “favelas e comunidades urbanas”: os desafios para a ocupação Alto da Boa Vista em Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2024-04-30) Pereira, Silvio Romeu Leitão; Martins, Adriano Augusto do Carmo; Kallas, Luana Miranda Esper; Cunha, Débora Ferreira da; Kneib, Érika CristineThis article addresses the growing challenge of housing deficit and the formation of informal urban areas such as “slums and urban communities,” highlighting the unequal distribution of decent housing.
