Importância da agricultura familiar para o desenvolvimento de municípios com predominância do agronegócio

Resumo

The modernization of agricultural activities enabled the consolidation of agribusiness and transformed the rural production structures. In cities where the economic base is agribusiness, family farms is viewed from two perspectives: the first considers that farmers can be inserted independently and competitive in the horticultural and second they need to survive through compensatory public policies, not to become surplus labor in the cities. The objective of this study is to demonstrate that family farming is feasible, even in a city dominated by agribusiness and this may be potentiated by the action of social actors and researchers. The study was conducted in Rio Verde - Goiás, considered an exponent of Brazilian agribusiness through the adaptation of the Policy Delphi methodology, with the participation of different social actors. The results indicate a need for organization of family farmers in cooperatives and/or associations with political and financial support of the state. Family farming is essential for the sustainable and integrated development and enhancement of family farmers is crucial and strategic for this.
