Resumo
The maned Wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus) (Illiger, 1815) is the largest animal
that represents the canidae species at the South America. The Dioctophyme renale
(Goeze, 1782) known as the giant kidney-worm, because it is used to lodges
mostly this organs, and it has been also responsible for the majority of captive
animals deaths. A maned wolf necropsy was done at the animal anatomy laboratory
of the Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG) - Campus Jataí and showed
a nematode in the right kidney of the wild dog. This is the second confirmed
case report of maned wolf that have free life in the city of Jataí and in State of
Goiás, that suggests that is a common parasitism in this region of the country.
