Resumo
Analyzes the indexing of the library systems of the Universidade Federal de Goiás and Rio de Janeiro. Addresses the concepts of the Knowledge Organization; Information Recovery; Indexing and the quality Indexing as a technical support. It is a qualitive approach and assumes a documental and exploratory characteristics for it uses as a tool to collect the data the Systems online catalog and examines the quality indexing of the Universidade Federal de Goiás System. The results show failures in the indexing done by the library’s and proposes improvements based on the observation of the indexed materials. It was concluded that there is a necessity of a implantation of the policies that were elaborated by the Library System of the Universidade Federal de Goiás and the creation of a indexation policy for the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro System.
