| dc.description.abstract | This paper aims to determine whether there is positive correlation between changes in income of the population and the consumption of chicken meat in brazil in the period 2002/2006. to this end, we used the monthly consumption of chicken and the average household nominal income for the period studied. the hypothesis is that variations in income positively influence the consumption of chicken, opposing the idea that there will be reduction in the consumption of chicken meat when there is an increase in income, since consumption would be replaced by beef. the results show that there is positive correlation between changes in income and increased consumption of chicken in the period studied, confirming the working hypothesis. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.resumo | Este trabalho tem por objetivo verificar se há correlação positiva entre as variações na renda da população brasileira e o consumo de carne de frango no Brasil, no período 2002/2006. Para tanto, utilizou-se o consumo de frango mensal e o rendimento nominal médio domiciliar para o período estudado. A hipótese adotada foi de que variações na renda influenciam positivamente o consumo de frango, contrapondo a ideia que haverá redução no consumo da carne de frango quando há um aumento da renda, visto que o consumo seria substituído pela carne bovina. Os resultados mostram que existe correlação positiva entre as variações na renda e o incremento do consumo de frango no período estudado, confirmando a hipótese de trabalho. | pt_BR |
