Entre as luzes e a escuridão: o florescer das obras e inovações em tempos de pandemia

Abstract

This research aims to identify outstanding works or inventions that were produced in various fields of human activity during times of social isolation due to pandemics throughout history. In order to respond to this scenario, a documental and bibliographic research was used, based on scientific articles, official documents, and websites, for the survey and data collection, and finally to present them in the form of a demonstration table. As a result, it was found that, despite the need for social isolation in times of pandemics, remarkable works and innovations in human history yesterday and today were presented to the world by men such as Newton, Shakespeare, and Boccaccio, among others. In current times, in relation to the pandemic of COVID-19, it is glimpsed that much must be being produced, but only soon we will know of such works and innovations that will influence the present and the future of mankind. However, we can point out some sparks that can already be seen in the current scenario of the pandemic, namely: the advance in the manufacture of immunizers; the misinformation; the naturalization of individual surveillance.
