Resumo
This article is an investigation based on the account of the subjective experiences
of one of the authors, traversed by different affections and implications, considering that
Christianity has shaped the identity construction of “being a woman” over a long period
of time. The cartographic method, applied to accompany the diary of notes (plus poems,
quotes, news, popular sayings, discursive practices and biblical passages), seeks to
promote reflections, denaturalizing and enhancing transgressions against the established
model based on the following question : “Is woman a subject to be governed by religion”
? The general aim of this study is to consider the impact of fundamentalist discourses on
the subjective construction of Christian women's sexuality. The study is justified because
it seeks to strengwthen dialogues contrary to attitudes based on the meekness and
inferiorization of omen in Christian religious institutions, and aims to incite new studies
in the area, given the lack of articles with the keywords “woman”, “Christian” and
“Goiás”. Based on the data collected and analyzed, the partial results show that
conservative, sexist and misogynist thoughts and attitudes are still prevalent in the state
of Goiás, framing female subjectivity in the ideals of a virtuous woman: chaste, Godfearing, obedient to her husband, a devoted mother and caregiver.
