Prato Andrium: design botânico com pintura cerâmica

Abstract

This study investigates ceramics as an expressive and technical medium for the development of visual language and product design. The research examines the relationships between ceramic modeling, pictorial ornamentation, and botanical observation within the creative process, considering how formal, material, and compositional decisions influence the visual and conceptual outcome of the proposal. Grounded in experimental design methodologies, the study combines analysis, practice, and reflection, according to Schön (1983) and Cross (2006). In the Jardim Vidrado project, the anthurium serves as the botanical object of study and as the reference for the development of visual compositions, in which painting acts as a poetic and interpretative language. The proposal seeks to reinterpret the plant’s form, color, and symbolism by translating them onto ceramic surfaces through ornamentation. As a result, the study presents the development of the Andrium plate, from its conception to the stages of representation and project validation. The research concludes at the proposal development stage, prioritizing its construction and communication rather than the final production of the object.
