The environmental aspects and matters have been subject of a large number of studies and projects in all areas of knowledge, and delimitation of watersheds and its morpho physiographic features are common practices used in hydrologic and environmental analysis. The morphometric and physiographic characteristics of watersheds can be used to support some environmental conservation programs, public policy of agricultural and urban development and vegetation recuperation. This work aimed to elaborate a diagnosis of the Inhumas river ́s watershed, which also belongs to Meia Ponte river`s watershed, evaluating its natural aptitude to the soil use and to estimate possible risks of its inadequate occupation. The morpho physiographic variables were determined through computer programs and Geographic Information Systems. The roughness coefficient was used to classify the soil natural ability of use. Categories were compared with maps of occupation processed. The watershed has elongated shape, so infiltration is more prominent than runoff. Waterways are straight and transport large volume of sediments residues. Ultisols and wavy relief were observed predominantly in the watershed boundaries. Neither the soil used correct with forest according to law nor the watershed occupation is suitable to soil natural aptitude. The Inhumas river ́s watershed needs recuperation of native vegetation and a better spatial distribution of agriculture, livestock and forest area.
