Resumo
Currently television is considered a medium huge information explosion and the appearance of it, brought a new stage in the evolution of audiovisual documentation. This type of documentation has increased considerably among TV stations even thought TV stations still do not have a technical adequate treatment for it. This work presents a proposal of a technical treatment [cataloging, describing, indexing and preservation] for audiovisual documents implemented at TV UFG station raising concepts of audiovisual documents and audio-visual documentation on television, the steps of the technical treatment to audiovisual documents in order to implement the treatment and make so that the information can be better and more quickly recovered by the editors and producers of TV programs and, in the future, by the general community, and the institutional memory of TV UFG station can be preserved.
