Em busca do caminho: o fantástico como processo artístico

Abstract

The present research is a practical and theoretical study aimed at investigating the artistic process and identifying the presence of the imaginary and the fantastic in the original production through painting. The study focuses on understanding how the fantastic manifests itself within the visual arts, looking into the path followed in the act of materializing it. To achieve this, the research will draw support from fields such as visual arts, literature and psychoanalysis to contemplate the original production as a manifestation of the artistic unconscious, seeking to uncover the correlation between art, the imaginary and symbology. The research will engage with authors such as Cecília Salles, Jean Chevalier and Alain Gheerbrant, Luigi Pareyson, Sandra Rey and Sigmund Freud to establish a relationship between production and imagination.
