Óxidos a base de sílica para remoção de corantes

Resumo

In this project samples of silica were produced from the burning of rice husk (SiAr), which is a low-cost by-product of agriculture. After the synthesis and characterization, the surface of SiAr was modified with the incorporation of ethylenediamine and a semiconductor metal, niobium, producing SiArEt and SiArNb, respectively. The sample of SiArEt was evaluated in the adsorption and the sample of SiArNb in the photodegradation of the yellow dye of tartrazine. The powders were characterized by DRX, FTIR and the amount of degraded and adsorbed dye was determined by UV/Visible spectroscopy. The results obtained for both samples showed a good degradation of the dye solution, indicating potential application, mainly because of the cost of the material obtained and because it is derived from biomass.
