Resumo
This work presents a historiographical narrative about the reception of the concept of gestuality by French semiotics in Brazil. The objective is to understand how the periodization of this concept took place in the country, considering each of its manifestations suggested by Greimas and Courtés (1979) —gestural texts, sign system and somatic language. Despite being an initial study, the results indicate that little has been published about the concept of gestuality, due to internal and external factors, which did not, however, prevent its recognition at the national level as a competent linguistic semiotics. to manifest as text. This evidence, in turn, the different working groups that have been developed and expanded around the theme, which may result, not now, but very soon, in a specialist group for the study of the signalled text from the scope of the French semiotics.
