Resumo

This text presents partial results of the research "Learning the city: a review of recent contributions from the Urban Brazilian Geography to the youth student’s formation" that aims at analyzing the contribution of recent Urban Brazilian Geography productions concerning to city, urban and major challenges to the building of these knowledge by youth student. To achieve this purpose, it was aimed to develop activities with students of public schools that allow knowing the perceptions and the urban practices taken by youth students themselves, considering that the student is an active subject in the teaching-learning process, and as such must be considered in their knowledge, in their subjectivity and in their cognitive development.
